What is a typical custody agreement between parents when the parents are located in different parts of the country? And in this situation, how are travel expenses covered?

It depends on which parent moves from the original jurisdiction in which the children resided when the parents were together. If there is a custody agreement in place, it will have to be brought before the court or if you can work it out, draft a written agreement stipulating all the matters of the agreement.

If you are moving away with your children and the other parent pays you child support, you would be responsible for compensating the other parent for travel related visitation expenses. If you are the other parent, just apply my logic to you as the "other parent."

Being a loving parent should not be confused with the contract that you must develop.

Which form should a father get to keep his 1 year old daughter’s mother from moving out of state with her? Petition to Modify Custody/Visitation or Complaint for Visitation? He can’t afford any legal help. Thanks!

You want modification of the custody agreement. You are looking for a line to be dropped into the custody order that says she can’t move more than XX miles away…correct? Then that is what you have to file.

I just want to change from joint to giving my ex full custody and me visitation. This will make everyone happy. Also, I may join the navy, which reuires that i give full custody to my ex. any help would be great, especially if it is from experience. thanks
