When will custody be equal for both Fathers and Mothers?

While things are improving, Mothers still get preference in custody cases. If both parents work, and the child is in daycare or school during the day, is there a difference in who is a better parent? Why are so many mothers getting the majority of the custody and fathers get the every other weekend visitation? When will the laws become adjusted so that both parents are treated equally in custody cases?

That’s a great question, I have no idea.

My father got full custody after my parents divorced and had major issues getting time needed from work due to people not being aware of men as primary care givers. I think the whole system regarding divorce and custody has some major issues, but I’m unfamiliar with how to solve them.

One can only hope sooner rather than later. There is no reason why a father should not be treated equal to a mother. if both circumstances are similar

Never. A mother is the most influencial parent in one’s life, and that will never change.

I guess they see it this way – the mothers are the CARE givers, and the fathers are there to support! That simple!
It used to be, the fathers were the head of the house, but in this day and age, you will find fathers are staying home while the wife works! BUt, here’s a point! In my own case, I actually make more money than my husband, but if there are any big decisions to be made such as signing documents! the HUSBAND is still considered the head of the household, so his name goes first!!! Catch 22! If I held my money out of the pot, where would little hubby be!? Up a river without a paddle! LOL!

I know far too many Husbands who lost their wife to the milk man because they spent 60 hours a week in the office, trying to provide for their family. The wife got the house, the car and the kids while the husband got to pay child support for 15 years. We live in a society that ALWAYS favors women in a divorce. The Feminists always bitch and moan about equality and how women are just as capable as men, right up until it’s in their favor to cry in court and claim they need child support.
When the Feminists finally realize their lifelong goal of blaming men for EVERYTHING, kill off chivalry and thereby achieve true equality, they’ll sit down, take stock, and suddenly realize just how good they had it before.

Truthfully. When the public stands up and says no more to many things.
One of which is the derogatory term "deadbeat dad". It was started as a political tool,it in no way benefits any child.
Another is the fact the court is unconcerned for the childs well being in general, they only care when they can make money off of the case.
The government is too involved in childrens lives, the system is in bad need of reform.
