How does Joint Custody work with time and child support. I will have 50 percent custody?
I am going to court on the 19th I filed for joint custody and is wondering how it will go. People told me that it will be 50 /50 but how does that work. Also how will that affect the child support? This is in the court of NJ

depends but a lot of people that have joint custody don’t pay child support, I would offer to pay half of the childs needs, or if you make more then maybe take that into consideration.

Child support is not given or withheld as punishment based on your child support arrangement and payment. They are two seperate decisions.

50/50 joint custody will dictate child support that is based on income differences. If you both make the same income, there will be no support, but there will be an order for expenses. If these is an income difference, it will be tabled to calculate the amount due to the lower income earner
