You can however ask for certain types of support, such as the father’s job offers better medical insurance so you ask the judge to order the father to pay the child’s medical insurance, and you can ask that tuition to private schools and fees for extra activities (like little league) be split between you.

It depends on who has primary physical custody. If you have joint legal custody, but YOU have primary physical custody (i.e., the child lives with you more than 50% of the time) then you will receive child support. If the child lives with the father most of the time, you will pay child support.

yes Joint custody is just visitation rights.If you have primary custody (meaning the child lives with you) he has to pay support ,you dont.
