What is the chances of my mother getting custody of my son?
My mother is trying to get custody of my child and me and my ex husband have joint custody. My mother feels im unfit yet my mother and stepfather are smoke weed and drink alchol. My mother is going to try to throw fast balls at me. For example she is going to say that i drink and drive and i leave my house a mess. I m not going to lie i have dishes not done but the biggest thing is i dont have a job at the moment. Do you think that i have a high chance of losing my son.
Actually this day in age a court doesn’t lean to the mother at all. My father was out of work but made all the efforts he had to provide for me and got full custody against my mother. Your mother has a huge burden of proof. Dishes not done is nothing. Unfit means you cannot provide any basics to the child, (food, shelter, etc.). As long as your doing that and your son is happy or seems happy to the judge and mediator, case closed.

I don’t think she has a chance.
I think she has to prove – not just say – things in order to get custody of your son.

Courts almost always side with the mother but you might want to consult a family attorney to make sure.
