Children Belong With Mothers

Posted by admin on Aug-18-2009

Children do not specifically belong with mothers; they belong with fit mothers and fit fathers.

Many women who insisted that mothers do not belong with children now emphatically insist that children belong with mothers. But here’s the catch: only when it comes to dividing ets in divorce, which hinges around who has custody of the children. Many women also feel that paying child support is not something non-custodial mothers should do. Here’s a good source:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/fred-silberberg/whats-good-for-the-goose_b_254808.html

In the late 1950’s, as women desired liberation from their traditional role and sought equal opportunity on the workfront, many men felt uncomfortable or threatened, as they felt that a part of them was validated through being the primary breadwinner. Today, as men are seeking equal opportunity on the homefront, they are often met with allegations of inferiority due to “maternal instincts,” and often a hostile environment in the form of maternal gatekeeping, which ranges from minor criticism to barring access to children.

We have an organization for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). How about an Equal Parenting Opportunity Commission (EPOC)? We need equal opportunity, not unequal opportunism. Until both sexes have equal opportunity on the workfront and the homefront, women will be unequally (disproportionately) encouraged to be opportunists, and destroy families.

If we are going to insist that children belong with women, let us insist that jobs - along with what jobs both require and produce, such as education and property - belong with men.

The YouTube user who made the original video also gives specious stats on the % of domestic violence perpetration, which I did not have time in this video to argue against. Here are some links:
