Britney Spears’ lawyer is revealing why she lost custody of her kids. He tells People magazine she was caught driving without a valid license and is also accused of not taking the random drug and alcohol tests ordered by the judge. Spears has been ordered to give up her two sons to her ex Kevin Federline for now. The pop star reportedly told a close friend she’s optimistic that she’ll get them back soon if she follows the judge’s orders.

Many Miley Cyrus fans are disappointed after missing out on tickets to the star’s upcoming concert tour. All 54 of her upcoming shows around the U.S. have already sold out. The “Hannah Montana Star” is set to head on her “Best of Both World” tour later this month. Many re-sellers have reportedly picked up several tickets and plan to sell them online for up to 15 times more than they are valued.

Actress Jane Seymour is taking a break from “Dancing with the Stars” to mourn the death of her mother. Her Mom died yesterday morning from complications following a stroke earlier this year. She was 92. Seymour, known for her role on “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman,” said she was doing the dancing reality show because it was her mom’s favorite.

Actors William H. Macy and Cheryl Hines are signing on for a new teen comedy. They’re set to play the parents in the film “Bart Got a Room.” It’s about a nerdy high school student trying to get a date to the prom. It’s set to come out sometime next year. Macy is known for his roles in “Fargo” and recently “Wild Hogs.” Hines co-stars with Larry David in HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Actor Jude Law and Michael Caine are preparing for the release of their new thriller. The stars attended the premiere of their new film “Sleuth” in New York yesterday. The director of the film Kenneth Branagh also attended the event. The film is a remake of a 1972 film about a writer who’s visited by a younger actor who’s having an affair with his wife. It hits most theaters October 11.

A court commissioner ruled Wednesday that Britney Spears can have visits with her two sons but did not reverse an order giving temporary custody to Kevin Federline, the pop star’s ex-husband, his attorney said.

Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon was expected to issue an order later in the day detailing the visitation rights, Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said.

Federline attended the hearing but Spears did not. Her attorney, Sorrell Trope, did not speak to reporters.

Britney Spears’ former bodyguard, Tony Barretto, plans to meet with officials from Child Protective Services from about 6 to 7:30 p.m., according to his attorney, Gloria Allred. Barretto has alleged that Spears used drugs and engaged in other misconduct in front of her two children.
Court spokesman Allan Parachini indicated Spears would be allowed monitored visits every other day.
Federline, 29, and Spears, 25, were ordered back to court Oct. 26 for another hearing.

Hello on this Friday, October 19, 2007. I’m Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update.

Britney Spears has lost visitation rights with her sons. Court papers say the pop star cannot see her kids unless she follows court orders. No other details were given. The decision comes after her ex Kevin Federline and his lawyer called an emergency hearing on Wednesday. Earlier this month, Spears lost custody to Federline temporarily. She was ordered to pass random drug tests, take parenting courses and get counseling if she wanted a chance to get more time with 2 year old Sean Preston and one year old Jayden James.

The Rome Film Festival is in full swing. Celebrities flocked to the Italian city yesterday for the beginning of the international event. Big stars are expected to attend including Halle Berry, Cate Blanchett and Sean Penn. More than 160 films from aroud the world are set to be shown at the festival. Also taking place at the event…actress Sofia Loren will be honored with the Lifetime achievement award.

The FBI is reportedly investigating magician David Copperfield. His warehouse in Las Vegas was apparently raided by agents on Wednesday night. Copperfield keeps many of his possessions there…he performs monthly at the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas. The FBI took a computer hard drive, large amounts of cash and a digital camera system. Officials wouldn’t reveal much, but did say the investigation is tied to a Seattle based case.

Stars filled the red carpet last night in London to support a good cause. The “Swarovski Fashion Rocks” gala combines fashion with music to raise money for a children’s charity. Singer Alicia Keys was at the event as well as Patti LaBelle and Lily Allen. Fashion Icon Donatella Versace was there with singer Iggy Pop. Actresses Uma Thurman and Heather Graham also joined the star-studded guest list.

Meanwhile, another group of celebrities gathered in Los Angeles to show support for another cause. “Desperate Housewives” stars Eva Longoria and Nicolette Sheridan were among the stars that showed up to support the Padres Contra el Cancer organization. That group aims to help Latino children suffering with cancer. Actress Jessica Alba was at the gala, as well as Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff.

Britney Spears loses custody of children

Pop star Britney Spears on Monday lost custody of her two sons after a wrenching and highly publicized court battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Federline “is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday October 3, 2007 at 12:00 pm until further order of the court,” Judge Scott Gordon wrote in his court order.

Celebrity websites TMZ and X17 said Spears took her sons to the drive-through window of a fast food restaurant before handing them over to Federline’s bodyguards shortly after noon on Monday.

The divorce between Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, became final at the end of July, but their temporary shared custody arrangement for their sons has unraveled amid allegations from Federline’s camp that Spears was an unfit mother.

Gordon on September 18 ordered Spears to undergo random drug testing in the latest twist in the bitter custody battle over Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

Gordon said at the time that according to evidence presented in closed door hearings, Spears was a “habitual, frequent, and continuous” user of “controlled substances and alcohol,” court documents showed.

Her drug and alcohol testing was to be “conducted twice per week on random dates and times.”

However, Monday’s order said the transcript of proceedings was “sealed” and gave no details about what led the court to change custody.

TMZ quoted an unnamed source connected with the case as saying “she may not have attended the parenting classes or performed the required drug and alcohol testing.”

Earlier this month, a former Spears bodyguard had lodged a statement with the court making allegations of nudity and drug use, and expressing concern about the welfare of Spears’ sons.

Reports have said Federline had been seeking a 70/30 arrangement in his favor instead of the 50/50 agreement the couple agreed to after separating.

Spears and Federline were to be “restrained from making derogatory remarks about the other party and the other party’s family or significant other,” an earlier court order said.

Gordon, who also ordered Spears to see a therapist at least once a week, required her to hire a parenting “coach” and ordered the former couple to sign up for a Parenting Without Conflict program.

Spears filed for divorce last year from Federline, a former back-up dancer and aspiring rap singer, and has rarely been out of the tabloid headlines since — especially following her downward spiral that landed her in a rehabilitation center in February.

Her stint in rehab followed a series of lurid tabloid headlines chronicling her erratic lifestyle.

She was repeatedly photographed in nightspots wearing no underwear, and was also captured bizarrely shaving her head in a hair salon and attacking a photographer’s car with an umbrella.

She reportedly has had fallings out with both of her parents; media reports also speculated that she might suffer from post-partum depression or another psychiatric condition.

The loss of custody dealt a fresh blow to Spears’ image as she attempts to rebuild her sagging career ahead of the release in November of her first album in four years.

Just weeks ago, Spears’ management company terminated a barely month-old contract with her, following heavily criticized public performance by the singer at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas.

The talented dancer and performer stunned many at the show by appearing not to know all the moves to her own number, or all the words to her own song.

Spears shot to superstardom in late 1998, with her smash-hit debut album “Baby One More Time” which she followed with another chart-topping success the following year, “Oops! … I Did It Again.”

According to Time magazine, Spears has sold over 76 million records worldwide and her 31 million albums sold in the US make her the eighth best-selling female artist in US music history.

From the press release today I see all words are stated by K-Fed’s attorney so until we get the full scoop I hope that Britney bashers don’t jump to conclusions and I pray Britney didn’t give up.
One has to consider that in any Trial one is staking their lives in a custody hearing so perhaps K-fed offered her more time with the kids?

I changed the title from Comes to Came (Past Tense)as I pray all that turmoil is behind her and Britney Rockets right back up to the top again…

The ongoing Custody Battle Took a turn for the worse when Britney refused to give the kids back after a visitation leading to police being called in on a Custodial Interference issue. No charges were filed. Britney Spears was taken to the Hospital where as of Jan 5th she still remained under close supervision. Spears was visited Saturday by Dr. Phil McGraw, who counsels people on his popular television program, “The Dr. Phil Show.”
I pray she is getting the help she needs.
Sadly this will close the door on any un-supervised visits with her children…Britney was not intoxicated at the time, as reported by the press earlier.
